Yield explores what it means to bend, adapt, accommodate or give way in response to the pressures around us. Through a range of materials and approaches, the exhibition reflects on how tension, resilience, fragility, and change shape our everyday lives.

“Life doesn’t last; art doesn’t last.” Eva Hesse

The works consider how we move through spaces and systems and how bodies and materials respond to forces such as weight, stress, contact and support. Some works appear stretched, softened, balanced or under pressure; others suggest moments of adjustment, resistance or release.

Rather than seeing yielding as weakness or surrender, the exhibition approaches it as a form of responsiveness, a way of remaining open and adaptable within changing conditions. Echoing Donna Haraway’s invitation to “stay with the trouble”, the exhibition pays attention to the uncertain, shifting spaces where transformation can occur.
