A living cultural organism.

Prokofiev Studio is a creative space in the heart of Hackney, dedicated to preserving and reimagining the artistic archive of the Prokofiev family.

Rooted in a remarkable archive while embracing contemporary practice, the studio serves as a place for visual art, music, performance and interdisciplinary dialogue.

At its core is an important collection of works by artist Oleg Prokofiev, whose paintings, sculptures and works on paper form the foundation of the programme. Alongside this visual heritage is an active musical environment shaped by composer Gabriel Prokofiev.

Historical archives inspire new ideas as artists, musicians, writers and audiences come together through exhibitions, concerts, talks, workshops and experimental projects.

The programme is curated by Anzhela Popova, bringing archival research, contemporary practice and international cultural dialogue into conversation.
